Presentation of the partner:
Society of folk art in the Parish of Zala has been the folk art society in the Parish of Zala for twenty-six years and works in the field of preservation and transfer of the traditional spiritual and technical experience of folk art and handicraft through creative handicrafts workshops. Also, it works on training skills in folk arts and organizing handicrafts events. Currently, the number of members in the association is 245. Society of folk art in the Parish of Zala organizes training for handicraftsmen in numerous branches of handicraft, such as: weaving of wool and flax, basketry, laying the boards, pottery, the making of folk costumes, toys and jewellery, carving, sheep farming. Apart from the folk artists in the region, the target groups are also children and the young, adult and pedagogues, and the vulnerable groups. The Society is a member of the Local Product Pannon Cluster, in which it takes care of the development of modern folk art products based on the tradition.

Project role of the partner:
Society of folk art in the Parish of Zala will be responsible for establishing and equipping the demonstration workshops for handicraftsmen as well as coordinating the international tender for the best handicraft products of the Slovenian and Hungarian handicraftsmen, along with an international handicraft design workshop. Furthermore, it will organize a mobile exhibition on handicraft professions across Hungary and also promote training for different levels of handicraft workshops (pottery course at the highest level, 120-hour training on making dolls from natural materials, amateur short courses).
